RA News: Calibre readies Even If… The Irish drum & bass producer will release his next LP this fall. Drum & bass artist Dominick Martin, AKA Calibre is ready to release his next album, Even If…. The Belfast-based artist has stayed quite busy since his debut in the late ’90s; Even If… will be his seventh album, and his fifth full-length since 2007. His style has varied dramatically as of late, namely with last year’s vocal-heavy Shine a Light (“my weird departure from everything”), but he says the new record shows him falling back into a drum & bass groove. “With Even If… I was back on familiar ground,” he says. “I employed my voice a few times, got emotional, forgot everything and turned the tempo up.”  Nonetheless, the record still has the sentimental touch that tends to set Martin’s tracks apart. “I’m always looking for the songwriter slant in drum & bass, to feel the blues in my music is important to me, it is a raw connection I never get tired of looking for,” he says. Drum & bass artist Dominick Martin, AKA Calibre is ready to release his next album, Even If….
